Moon Reflecting on the River - Adapted by Wu Zuqiang
On first hearing the serene melody of Moon Reflecting on the River, world-renowned conductor Seiji Ozawa wept and knelt down. According to Ozawa, you have to kneel down in utmost sincerrity to appreciate the purest sound of heavens, the best of music.
Meaningful in great depth and unbelievably beautiful, Moon Reflecting on the River originally composed by Hua Yanjun is undisputably a Chinese masterpiece. Our adaptation follows the footprint of numerous previous attempts and hopes to find new meanings in a faitful rendition of the classic.
The adapter Wu Zuqiang puts harmonics at work and uses stringed instruments to add to the textures of the music. Through the original structure is slightly changed, the main theme is even stronger helped by the rich dynamics of stringed instruments. The sharp pain and mournful sorrow originally performance of violin, rendering even better interpretation of the original theme in poignant recognition of the tragical beauty of life. An artist was even reduced to tears when doing the recording.
