=============About the Shakuhachi flute=============

The Shakuhachi ( meaning 1.8 shaku and referring to the size ) was originally introduced from China into Japan in the 6th century. The shakuhachi is traditionally made of bamboo. It was used by the monks from a branch of the Zen Buddhism, and used in the practice of suizen (blowing meditation). The sound is a full, rich tone, with different possibilities for variation, like not covering the holes completely.

This recording makes use of a live sampled flute and is combined with live sampled ocean waves.

Ο Αι Γουει Γουέι εκθέτει στην Κοπεγχάγη σωσίβια από πρόσφυγες στη Λέσβο

Ο πιο επιδραστικός σύγχρονος καλλιτέχνης. Ακτιβιστής, φωτογράφος, κινηματογραφιστής, έγινε παγκόσμιο σύμβολο στην καταπολέμηση της βίας και τη στήριξη των προσφύγων με κάθε κόστος. Έζησε επί μήνες μαζί τους μέσα σε λάσπες στις σκηνές της Ειδομένης και τις Λέσβου. Εκ του ασφαλούς, θα πούνε κάποιοι και άλλοι θα τον κατακρίνουν, κυρίως όταν ξάπλωσε μπρούμυτα στην ακροθαλασσιά ως αναπαράσταση / αντίδραση / αντίσταση στον θάνατο του μικρού Αϊλαν. Ο ίδιος δεν έχει περάσει εύκολα, ούτε έζησε τις χλιδές που θα μπορούσε λόγω του ονόματός του. Εχει εκδιωχθεί ως παιδί με την οικογένειά του, τον έχει δείρει η Κινεζική αστυνομία για έργο του μέχρι που χειρουργήθηκε για τα τραύματά του, επιχείρησαν την ηθική του απαξίωση, τον φυλάκισαν.

Toru Takemitsu: Between Tides and Other Chamber Music.

Toru Takemitsu (武満 徹 Takemitsu Tōru?, October 8, 1930 -- February 20, 1996) was a Japanese composer and writer on aesthetics and music theory. Largely self-taught, Takemitsu possessed consummate skill in the subtle manipulation of instrumental and orchestral timbre. He drew from a wide range of influences, including jazz, popular music, avant-garde procedures and traditional Japanese music, in a harmonic idiom largely derived from the music of Claude Debussy and Olivier Messiaen.

In 1958, his Requiem for strings (1957) gained international attention, led to several commissions from across the world and settled his reputation as one of the leading Japanese composers of the 20th century. He was the recipient of numerous awards, commissions and honours; he composed over 100 film scores and about 130 concert works for ensembles of various sizes and combinations. He also found time to write a detective novel and appeared frequently on Japanese television as a celebrity chef.

In the foreword to a selection of Takemitsu's writings in English, conductor Seiji Ozawa writes: "I am very proud of my friend Toru Takemitsu. He is the first Japanese composer to write for a world audience and achieve international recognition."

Ron Carter (born May 4, 1937) is an American jazz double-bassist. His appearances on over 2,500 albums make him one of the most-recorded bassists in jazz history, along with Milt Hinton, Ray Brown and Leroy Vinnegar. Carter is also an acclaimed cellist who has recorded numerous times on that instrument.

Ron Carter est un contrebassiste de jazz américain né le 4 mai 1937 à Ferndale dans l'État du Michigan. Le son unique de sa musique et ses fameux déhanchements ont fait de lui une figure légendaire du jazz ainsi qu'un musicien demandé. Ses contributions sur plus de 2 500 albums en font l'un des contrebassistes les plus enregistrés de l'histoire du jazz. Ron Carter est devenu célèbre en jouant avec Miles Davis.

Τη σειρά των ζωγραφικών της έργων «κουνήσου απ΄ τη θέση σου» παρουσιάζει η Χριστίνα Ζυγούρη στο εστιατόριο Ambrosia του Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki. Η έκθεση διοργανώνεται από τη Myrό Antiques House. Η έκθεση διαρκεί ως το τέλος Ιουλίου. Η Χριστίνα Ζυγούρη, γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη όπου και ζει και εργάζεται μόνιμα.

"Οι μουσικές της Κρήτης" στο Ωδείο Ηρώδου Αττικού - 28 Ιουνίου 2017

Εξήντα μουσικοί και τραγουδιστές και είκοσι χορευτές θα μεταφέρουν στη σκηνή του Ηρωδείου την ψυχή της Κρήτης, μέσα από τραγούδια που συνθέτουν το μουσικό πανόραμα του νησιού και συμπυκνώνουν συλλογική μνήμη και γνώση.

Στα πλαίσια του Athens Photo Festival η γκαλερί «7» παρουσιάζει την έκθεση φωτογραφίας «Το Ταξίδι» της Δέσποινας Πιλάτη. Την έκθεση επιμελείται ο Θανάσης Μουτσόπουλος, ο οποίος σε σχετικό σημείωμά του αναφέρει: «Η Δ.Π. φωτογραφίζει έναν πλανήτη σε συνεχή κίνηση. Από τις μεγάλες αστικές επεκτάσεις μέχρι τις αιθέριες εξωτικές παραλίες, τόσο γοητευτικές για τον δυτικό τουρίστα.

Our body is the part of us that evacuates them .. So it is essential to master our thoughts that are our children before they go and wander into the ouside world after having affected our own aura, our inner rivers as the outside rivers and oceans... And we will also be one day the future generation that will have to clean everything ... RESPECT LIFE in all its forms, it is sacred and is not a commodity for sale. It was only lent to us and we are the guardians of it and it is time to take the responsibility of our creations and become aware of how deeply our creation, conscious as unconscious affect all the rest... and not only humans. All we do, we do it to ourselves.
