Δέσποινα Τομαζάνη: Ήρθα λοιπόν κατευθείαν στη Δασκαλόπετρα, στην Πέτρα του Ομήρου, στη Βρύση του Πασά. Ήμουν σκυμμένη πάνω από τα τριφύλλια στη ρίζα του μεγάλου γκρίζου βράχου. Το πρωινό φως έσβηνε τη σκιά της Πέτρας κι έδειχνε το αργυρό αγιάζι που είχε καθίσει πάνω στα τρυφερά πράσινα. Μελετούσα τις ολόφωτες «υδράργυρες» μπιλίτσες που μάζευαν στο κέντρο τους τη σκορπισμένη νύχτα, όταν ξαφνικά και εντελώς αναπάντεχα βρέθηκα με ένα τετράφυλλο τριφύλλι στο χέρι, κάτι που δεν πίστευα ότι είναι αληθινό...

Totó la Momposina - "Tambolero"

Totó La Momposina came to Real World Studios in August 1991 to begin recording what would prove to be her most important album, now re-released on Real World Records as "Tambolero". In this never before seen footage from the original recording session, Totó delivers an outstanding live performance of El Pescador, surrounded by friends and guests. The soundtrack has been restored and remixed and features as a track on the 2015 album "Tambolero".

Rajasthan’s folk instruments.Nathulal Solanki is a well known Nagara 

player from "Puushar" Sangeet Gharana. He began learning Nagara 

at very early age from his elder brother late "Ramakishan Solanki", 

who won an important musical award from a prominent Indian president. 

This exlusive learning was taught to him by his esteemed brother "Ramakishan Solanki".

το σπίτι και την οικογένεια του, ο Ρόκι θα πρέπει να μεταμορφωθεί από ένα 

συνεσταλμένο, νεαρό «κοτόπουλο» σε ένα γενναίο κόκορα.

Beautiful Nubia and the Roots Renaissance Band

Segun Akinlolu (aka Beautiful Nubia) blends a compelling mix of soul and contemporary Nigerian folk and roots music on the aptly titled Soundbender. This is the eleventh studio album from a multifaceted singer-songwriter who is a linchpin in today's music scene in Nigeria. When Akinlolu isn't performing across the country, especially at schools and universities, he's busy composing music, writing poetry and organizing an annual music festival. He also leads the African Socio-Cultural Ideas Initiative, which encourages bright thinkers to discuss and debate the future of African prosperity. Akinlolu's social awareness and positivity are evident within the lyrics.

The Resurgence of Kandia Kouyaté

Sensational Malian vocalist is back with Renascence. 

This great news for Malian music fans. 

Kandia Kouyaté had only released two albums outside of Mali and then she had a stroke. Encouraged by the late Ibrahima Sylla, Kandia agreed to record again. 

Renascence is her third international release and marks her return to the studio. 

Kadia Kouyate clearly demonstrates she’s still in great musical shape.

African Legends Now, Then and Now
