Ibn' Arabi - 'Alone with the Alone': Henry Corbin

One of the 20th century’s most prolific scholars of Islamic mysticism, Henry Corbin (1903-1978) was Professor of Islam & Islamic Philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the University of Tehran. (Iran) 

Corbin’s central project was to provide a framework for understanding the unity of the religions of the Book: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. His great work: “Alone with the Alone: Creative Imagination in the Sufism of Ibn ‘Arabi “is a classic initiatory text of visionary spirituality that transcends the tragic divisions among the three great monotheisms. 

Corbin’s life was devoted to the struggle to free the religious imagination from fundamentalisms of every kind. 

Mystic, philosopher, poet, sage, Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi is one of the world's great spiritual teachers.  

Ibn 'Arabi was born in Murcia, Spain in 1165 and his writings had an immense impact throughout the Islamic world and beyond. The universal ideas underlying his thought are of immediate relevance today.

Γιούλικα – Γεωργία Ζολώτα: «Αναθέματα»

Την ατομική της έκθεση ζωγραφικής με τίτλο «Αναθέματα» και θέμα την παιδική και γυναικεία κακοποίηση  παρουσιάζει η Γιούλικα – Γεωργία Ζολώτα στο Μαρούσι το Σάββατο και την Κυριακή 27 και 28 Ιανουαρίου. Η έκθεση φιλοξενείται στην Αίθουσα Εκδηλώσεων του δήμου και τελεί υπό την αιγίδα του δήμου Μαρουσιού. Τα έργα είναι βιωματικά και πρόκειται για δεκαέξι τρίπτυχα (Λάδι σε καμβά, διαστάσεις 150cm x 70cm). Σκοπός είναι να επικοινωνήσει το μήνυμα κατά της κακοποίησης του παιδιού και της γυναίκας. Τα συνθήματα πάνω στα έργα μαρτυρούν μια προσπάθεια της εικόνας να συνδυαστεί με το λόγο και να φιλοσοφήσει κυρίως μέσω της θρησκείας, με σκοπό όχι την πόλωση κακοποιημένου και κακοποιού στοιχείου, αλλά την τροφή για προβληματισμό και την ελπίδα για διέξοδο. Εξάλλου ο τίτλος «αναθέματα» έχει επαμφοτερίζουσα σημασία, καθώς αναθέματα εκτός από τις κατάρες καλούνται επίσης και τα θρησκευτικά τάματα.

Ένας καινούργιος χώρος δημιουργήθηκε στο σημαντικότερο θέατρο της Αθήνας, το Παλλάς. Υπό την επιμέλεια της καταξιωμένης σκηνογράφου Εύας Νάθενα, με vintage art deco έπιπλα και design φωτισμό, τo Foyer είναι έτοιμο να φιλοξενήσει εικαστικές εκθέσεις, παρουσιάσεις βιβλίων και δράσεις γύρω από τον πολιτισμό.

Πρώτη δράση η ατομική έκθεση του Πάνου Κοκκινιά με τίτλο Replay, σε επιμέλεια της Άννας Χατζηνάσιου, η οποία εγκαινιάζεται την Τετάρτη 31 Ιανουαρίου, στις 20:00, με την υποστήριξη της ιδιωτικής λέσχης Salon de Bricolage.

Μια πολλαπλά ενδιαφέρουσα έκθεση παρουσιάζεται στο Φουαγιέ του Μεγάρου Μουσικής Θεσσαλονίκης. Η έκθεση, που παρουσιάζεται για πρώτη φορά στη Θεσσαλονίκη με αφορμή την Ημέρα Μνήμης των Ελλήνων Εβραίων Μαρτύρων και Ηρώων του Ολοκαυτώματος (27η Ιανουαρίου), περιλαμβάνει φωτογραφικά πορτρέτα Ελλήνων Εβραίων επιζώντων των ναζιστικών στρατοπέδων.

Αγάπης έργα του Δημήτρη Δεβούρου

Την 3η του ατομική έκθεση παροσυσιάζει στο Pirée, ο Δημήτρης Δεβούρος από 1η έως και 4 Φεβρουαρίου. «Καρδιές» γεμάτες χρώματα, ένταση, πάθος, συνθέτουν μια έκθεση γεμάτη συναισθήματα. Κάθε έργο, αποδίδει το σχήμα της «καρδιάς» με πολυποίκιλες τεχνικές, έχοντας στόχο να «ξυπνήσει» αναμνήσεις. Τα «Pieces of Love»/ «Αγάπης Έργα» γεννήθηκαν μέσα από στιγμές του παρελθόντος, αλλά και όνειρα του μέλλοντος. Μια χορογραφία χρωμάτων, που ακολούθησαν άλλοτε ξέφρενο ρυθμό, άλλοτε μια γαλήνια μελωδία, παραλληλίζοντας έτσι την πορεία της «καρδιάς», έως ότου αυτή ξαποστάσει.

David Jon Gilmour, CBE (born 6 March 1946) is an English guitarist, singer and songwriter best known as a longtime member of the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. He joined the group as guitarist and co-lead vocalist in 1968, effectively as a replacement for founder member Syd Barrett, who was dismissed from the band shortly afterwards.

Pink Floyd subsequently achieved international success with the concept albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. By the early 1980s, they had become one of the most critically acclaimed and best-selling acts in the history of popular music; it was estimated that by 2012 the band had sold over 250 million records worldwide, including 75 million units sold in the United States. Following the departure of another founder member, Roger Waters, Gilmour assumed leadership of Pink Floyd in 1985.

In addition to his work with Pink Floyd, Gilmour has produced a variety of artists, for example the Dream Academy, and has had a solo career which has included four studio albums: David Gilmour, About Face, On an Island, and Rattle That Lock. As a member of Pink Floyd, he was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2005, Gilmour was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to music. He was awarded with the Outstanding Contribution title at the 2008 Q Awards. In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 14 in their list of the greatest guitarists of all time. Additionally, Gilmour was voted number 36 in the greatest voices in rock by Planet Rock listeners in 2009.

He has taken part in projects to promote international charities related to such subjects as animal rights, homelessness, poverty, environmentalism, wildlife conservation, human rights, and music therapy. He has married twice and is the father of eight children.

"On an Island" is David Gilmour's third solo album and "Red Sky At Night" is the 5th track of the album. It was released in the UK on 6 March 2006, Gilmour's 60th birthday, and in the US the following day. It was his first solo album in twenty two years since 1984's About Face and twelve years since 1994's Pink Floyd album The Division Bell.

The album features Robert Wyatt, Jools Holland, Georgie Fame, David Crosby, Graham Nash, late Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, early Pink Floyd member Bob Klose and Pink Floyd session and touring musician Guy Pratt. Chris Thomas and Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera assisted with production. The lyrics were principally written by Gilmour's wife, Polly Samson. Much of the album was recorded in Gilmour's private studio aboard his houseboat Astoria.

Live performing of the video it was recorded during the final show of his "On an Island" tour in 2006, where he played to an audience of 50,000 at the Gdańsk Shipyard to celebrate the founding of the Solidarity trade union.

Γελοιογράφος, σκιτσογράφος, στιχουργός, μουσικός, με μακρά καλλιτεχνική πορεία, ο Γιάννης Λογοθέτης, κατά κόσμον ΛοΓο, παρουσιάζει ιστορίες ζευγαριών μέσα από ευφάνταστα ζωγραφικά έργα μικτών τεχνικών, με το γνώριμο ζωγραφικό του ιδίωμα και το πάντα κυρίαρχο χιούμορ του. In the mid-1970s, the young Peul singer Inna Baba Coulibaly, was a regular visitor to the Bamako home of Amadou Djeli Ba, master of the ngoni from her village of Dilly. It was there that she met Ali Farka Touré who was already famous thanks to his regular broadcasts on Radio Mali. It took her some time to overcome her shyness and come out from behind the door where she would hide, singing the songs softly to herself while the two great musicians played together. After a while Ali suggested they go to the Radio Mali studio to record a few songs. This album is the result of those recordings.

World Circuit Records have established their reputation by producing some of the finest world music albums of the past two decades, specialising in music from Cuba and West Africa. Κέρος: Απρόσμενα αρχαιολογικά ευρήματα στην καρδιά του Αιγαίου

Ανασκαφές Κέρου: Η κλίμακα στην είσοδο

του οικισμού από ψηλά. Το επίπεδο της θάλασσας

ήταν αρκετά χαμηλότερα κατά την Πρώιμη Εποχή του Χαλκού

(πηγή: ΥΠΠΟΑ/Βρετανική Σχολή Αθηνών).

Το νησί της Κέρου, που βρίσκεται στις Κυκλάδες νότια της Νάξου, ήταν γνωστό μέχρι πρόσφατα για τα μοναδικά τελετουργικά δρώμενα που λάμβαναν χώρα εκεί πριν από 4.500 χρόνια, με κύριο χαρακτηριστικό την εναπόθεση σπασμένων μαρμάρινων ειδωλίων. Στο δυτικότερο ακρωτήρι της Κέρου (που πλέον αποτελεί ένα μικρό νησάκι λόγω της ανόδου της στάθμης της θάλασσας), ακριβώς δίπλα από το προϊστορικό ιερό, βρίσκεται ο προϊστορικός οικισμός του Δασκαλιού. Εκεί, οι νέες ανασκαφές φέρνουν στο φως πλήθος επιβλητικών και πυκνά δομημένων κατασκευών, πολύ πιο εντυπωσιακών από ό,τι πιστεύαμε μέχρι σήμερα, αποδεικνύοντας πως πρόκειται για μια από τις πιο σημαντικές θέσεις στο Αιγαίο της Πρώιμης Εποχής του Χαλκού (3η χιλιετία π.Χ.). Τα νέα ευρήματα δείχνουν ότι το Δασκαλιό καλυπτόταν σχεδόν εξ ολοκλήρου με μοναδικά μνημειακά οικοδομήματα, χτισμένα με πέτρα φερμένη από τη Νάξο, παρά την απόσταση των περίπου 10 χιλιομέτρων που χωρίζει τα δύο νησιά.
