Ο Ελβετός φωτογράφος Frédéric (Fred) Boissonnas (1858-1946) προσκλήθηκε στην Αίγυπτο το 1929 από τον Βασιλιά Φουάντ Α΄ προκειμένου να πάρει φωτογραφίες για μια πολυτελή έκδοση με τίτλο Αίγυπτος (1932).

Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor (WoO 59), commonly known as "Für Elise", is one of Ludwig van Beethoven's most popular compositions. The score was not published until 1867, 40 years after the composer's death in 1827. The discoverer of the piece, Ludwig Nohl, affirmed that the original autographed manuscript, now lost, was dated 27 April 1810. It is not certain who "Elise" was. It has been suggested that Ludwig Nohl may have transcribed the title incorrectly and the original work may have been named "Für Therese", a reference to a friend and student of Beethoven's to whom he supposedly proposed in 1810, though she turned him down. According to a 2010 study by Klaus Martin Kopitz, there is evidence that the piece was instead written for the German soprano singer Elisabeth Röckel. "Elise" had been a friend of Beethoven's since 1808.

Αναρχία στη Νοσταλγία. Κάνω μία έκθεση αλλά φοβάμαι μην εκτεθώ…
Αυτό που προσπαθώ να πω είναι ότι προσπαθώ να πω κάτι.
Ότι προσπαθώ εδώ και χρόνια να πω κάτι και προσπαθώ να το πω μιλώντας, ταξιδεύοντας, δουλεύοντας, σχεδιάζοντας αλλά κυρίως προσπαθώ να το πω ζωγραφίζοντας.
Αυτό που προσπαθώ να πω είναι ότι προσπαθώ να πω κάτι, ενώ δεν είναι ανάγκη να πω κάτι. Δηλαδή πώς να το πω, ούτε το ζήτησε κανείς, ούτε χρειάζεται, ούτε πρέπει να πω κάτι αλλά νοιώθω ότι καλό θα ήταν κάποιος να πει κάτι, και ότι καλό θα ήταν μάλλον εγώ να πω κάτι, οπότε μάλλον έχω κάτι να πω.

Η Θερινή ώρα είναι η αποτύπωση ενός ταξιδιού, ίσως και αυτογνωσίας, μέσα από τα μάτια μιας γυναίκας καθισμένης σε μια στάση λεωφορείων. Τα 24 ποιήματα του βιβλίου αποτελούν μια ενότητα-παρουσίαση αυτής της γυναίκας, η οποία στο τέλος, βρίσκοντας τον κήπο της, θα γίνει δέντρο και θα ανθίσει.

Μια γυναίκα σε μια στάση.
Περιμένει να φύγει.
Ή να ξαναγυρίσει.
Όσο περιμένει ξεφλουδίζει το δέρμα της.
Μέχρι να φτάσει στο κουκούτσι.

Με την παλάμη της το σιγουρεύει.
Η βροχή σταμάτησε.
Ή θα σταματήσει κάποτε.

Η Λένα Σιώζου (Silena) ζει και εργάζεται στη Νέα Μάκρη, Αττική. Διδάχτηκε ζωγραφική στο κολλέγιο τεχνών του Λονδίνου και μαθηματικά στο Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Έχει πραγματοποιήσει δεκαεννέα ατομικές εκθέσεις και τρείς ομαδικές στην Ελλάδα. Οι πίνακές της είναι ένα ταξίδι στο χρώμα, το φώς, τον έρωτα και τη φαντασία. Η ζωγραφική είναι ελευθερία, δημιουργία, όνειρο. Αντλεί την έμπνευσή της από τη φύση, την ποίηση, τη μουσική και τον άνθρωπο. Η τέχνη είναι το μέσο για να υλοποιήσει το προσωπικό της ταξίδι.

Συνεχίζοντας την διερεύνηση των προσωπικών αντικειμένων στην καθημερινότητα και τη σχέση τους με το χώρο, την ανάμνηση, την διαχρονικότητα και την μεμονωμένη στιγμή, η Μαρία Γλύκα με την έκθεση «Ξυπνάς σε α’ πρόσωπο» επιχειρεί να δημιουργήσει μια πλατφόρμα χαρακτήρων μέσα από τον προσωπικό μας καθημερινό χώρο, την πόλη. Οι χαρακτήρες που κινούνται στο αστικό τοπίο, μένουν σε δυσανάλογα δωμάτια σπιτιών, μαζί με καθοριστικά για τη ζωή τους έπιπλα και αντικείμενα, ψωνίζουν μοναχικά σε πολυκαταστήματα συνήθως άδεια και μετακινούνται συχνά με μέσα μεταφοράς. Τα πράγματά τους, καθορίζουν τις αποφάσεις τους και είναι μέρη της πραγματικότητας αυτής. Δεν είναι απλά αντικείμενα μιας κάποιας χρήσης ακόμα κι αν είναι εφήμερα ως προς την κατασκευή τους, δεν είναι απλά αναμνηστικά αλλά μέρος των σημαντικών τους σχέσεων με τους άλλους ανθρώπους. Το υλικό από το οποίο είναι φτιαγμένα, φυσικό ή τεχνητό και ο χώρος που όλα συνυπάρχουν έχει σημασία ενώ συχνά έχει τόση σημασία όσο η ίδια η ύπαρξη των προσώπων.

Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-, BAFTA- and Grammy-nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannsson’s first album for Deutsche Grammophon is a meditation on beauty and the process of creation.
Orphée traces a path from darkness into light, inspired by the various re-tellings of the ancient tale of the poet Orpheus, from Ovid’s to Jean Cocteau’s. A many-layered story about death, rebirth, change and the ephemeral nature of memory, the myth can also be read as a metaphor for artistic creation, dealing with the elusive nature of beauty and its relationship to the artist, as well as the idea that art is created through transgression – by the poet defying the gods who have forbidden him to turn back towards his beloved as he leaves the Underworld.
Orphée’s sonic palette is varied, combining acoustic instruments both solo and in ensemble with electronics and the mesmeric sounds of shortwave radio “numbers stations”. It draws on many facets of his previous albums, incorporating music for solo cello, organ, string quartet, string orchestra and unaccompanied voices.
Orphée shows the full range of the Icelandic composer’s remarkable invention and uncanny feeling for atmosphere. The music of the entire album is tied together structurally by recurring harmonic and melodic elements, yet each track sounds fresh, evocative and unique. Orphée reconciles ambitious orchestral and vocal writing with influences ranging from the Baroque to minimalism and electronic music. Also influenced by film composers Bernard Herrmann, Ennio Morricone and Michael Nyman (all prolific writers, like Jóhann himself, of concert music as well as film scores), Jóhannsson is a contemporary exponent of a tradition that was shaped by composers such as Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Walton or Korngold.
“Orphée is for me about changes: about moving to a new city, leaving behind an old life in Copenhagen and building a new one in Berlin – about the death of old relationships and the birth of new ones,” explains Jóhann. “Perhaps this is one of the reasons I was drawn to the Orpheus myth, which is fundamentally about change, mutability, death, rebirth, the elusive nature of beauty and its sometimes thorny relation to the artist. This album, my first solo record for six years, is an oblique reflection on personal change.”
Orphée is a haunting and atmospheric musical journey, crowned by the sublime Orphic Hymn – a setting of Ovid’s text performed by Paul Hillier’s Theatre of Voices. The album is a reflection on change, memory, beauty and art, and ultimately celebrates the latter’s power of renewal, while acknowledging the dark paths along which it can lead the artist. “Making Orphée has been a true labour of love, one that has been a part of my life for six years, and yet the music always remained fresh – it was constantly in a state of flux and renewal,” its composer concludes.

Η Εθελοντική Αιμοδοσία θα γίνει στο Χώρο Πολλαπλών Χρήσεων στο Σταθμό του Μετρό "Σύνταγμα" την Κυριακή 18 Μαρτίου 2018 από τις 10:00 έως τις 16:00.
Σκοπός της αιμοδοσίας είναι η ενίσχυση της Τράπεζας Αίματος για τα τροχαία συμβάντα που το Ι.Ο.ΑΣ. «Πάνος Μυλωνάς» έχει δημιουργήσει από το 2013.

Ημέρα Φροντιστή ατόμων με Αλτσχάιμερ (Σάββατο 17 Μαρτίου 2018)
Στη νόσο Αλτσχάιμερ, μαζί με τον ασθενή πάσχει όλη η οικογένεια. Στην Ελλάδα υπάρχουν περίπου 200.000 άτομα με νόσο Αλτσχάιμερ. Στο καθένα από αυτά αντιστοιχούν τουλάχιστον δύο άνθρωποι –συνεπώς 400.000– που φροντίζουν σε τακτική βάση για την κάλυψη την αναγκών του, για την άνετη, ασφαλή και με αξιοπρέπεια διαβίωσή του. Είναι συνήθως μέλη της οικογένειας και στη συντριπτική τους πλειονότητα γυναίκες, εντελώς απροετοίμαστες για το δύσκολο ρόλο που καλούνται να αναλάβουν.
