Από την Παρασκευή 18 έως την Κυριακή 20 Μαΐου 2018, στην αυλή του ΛΕΜΜ-Θ, με εκδηλώσεις, εργαστήρια πηλοπλαστικής για μικρούς και μεγάλους και επίδειξη τροχού.
Απολαύστε μια πτήση πάνω από έναν τόπο που μοιάζει βγαλμένος από χέρι ζωγράφου και που ακόμη και παραλίες εξωτικών χωρών θα "κοκκίνιζαν" μπροστά της.Στις εσχατιές της Ελλάδας, εκεί που ατενίζει κανείς την Τουρκία σε κοντινή απόσταση βρίσκεται αυτός ο επίγειος, ανέγγιχτος παράδεισος, το Κασονήσι Σάμου. Πρόκειται για το τρίτο σε έκταση νησί γύρω από τη Σάμο και βρίσκεται μια ανάσα απ' αυτήν.Η θάλασσα που υπάρχει σ' αυτή την τυρκουάζ λωρίδα είναι "βελούδινη", τα νερά έχουν απίστευτα χρώματα, σε όλες τις αποχρώσεις του γαλάζιου και είναι ρηχά και φιλικά για κολύμπι.Η πρόσβαση γίνεται είτε με σκάφος είτε από ένα δύσβατο μονοπάτι. Ο κόπος όμως ανταμείβεται με το παραπάνω από το εξωτικό, απερίγραπτο τοπίο.
Μετά την επιτυχημένη έκθεσή της πέρυσι τον Οκτώβριο στην αίθουσα τέχνης Τεχνοχώρος και στο Ιταλικό Μορφωτικό Ινστιτούτο Αθηνών, η Marisa Zattini επιστρέφει στην Ελλάδα για να εκθέσει τη νέα της δουλειά, αυτήν τη φορά στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Η καινούργια της έκθεση με τίτλο Metamorphica φιλοξενείται στο Γενί Τζαμί σε συνδιοργάνωση της Δημοτικής Πινακοθήκης Θεσσαλονίκης με την αίθουσα τέχνης Τεχνοχώρος και τελεί υπό την αιγίδα του Ιταλικού Μορφωτικού Ινστιτούτου Αθηνών. Διάρκεια έκθεσης 17 ΜαΪου – 30 Ιουνίου.
Ο τίτλος της ομαδικής έκθεσης Softwear δημιουργεί ένα λογοπαίγνιο με το δεύτερο συνθετικό της λέξης Software που σημαίνει λογισμικό, με το wear, που σημαίνει ενδύομαι, φοράω. Ως λογισμικό στην γλώσσα των υπολογιστών θεωρείται ό,τι δεν ανήκει στο υλικό κομμάτι του υπολογιστή (hardware) εκεί περιλαμβάνονται τα αντικείμενα που έχουν υλική υπόσταση, ενώ στο λογισμικό περιλαμβάνονται τα όλα τα άυλα, τα προγράμματα και οι εφαρμογές που υπάρχουν στο εσωτερικό, στο μυαλό του υπολογιστή.
Με διδακτορικό τίτλο σπουδών στην Αρχαιολογία, η Γεωργία Κορδατζάκη, δημιουργός των jasper handmade ceramics, θα παρουσιάσει στο Βρυσάκι, Χώρο Τέχνης και Δράσης μια σειρά κεραμικών της που εμπνέονται από το παρελθόν της Ελλάδας.

A pensive melodic reflection on life ensnared in ephemeral attachments.
This is part of a series of three Carnatic-Hindustani jugalbandi performances. “Ghei Chhand Makarand” is a melodious Natyageet, popular vocal art in the state of Maharashtra, composed by Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki in raga Salagvarali set to Jhaptaal, for the Marathi Musical Drama and Movie “Katyar Kaljat Ghusli"". The earnest lyrics by Purushottam Darvhekar describe the effects of transient attachments in life, drawing an analogy to a bee so lost in the pleasure of consuming honey from a lotus that it forgets to fly away and dies as the flower closes at sunset.
Vocalists Udaya Kiran and Manas Vishwaroop unwrap the essence of raga Salagvarali to create the mood to match the philosophical reflections of the composer of this Natyageet. Swaminath Jayaraman on the Mridangam and Anirudh Sharma on the Tabla accompany the vocal rendition with Kartik Raman on the Tanpura.
Η The Pulse Gallery έχοντας ολοκληρώσει έναν κύκλο δώδεκα εκθέσεων, παρουσιάζει την έκθεση Yellow Me που πραγματεύεται το κίτρινο χρώμα και την αμφισημία του στην πρόσληψη του από το ανθρώπινο υποσυνείδητο.
Στην έκθεση θα παρουσιαστούν έργα των καλλιτεχνών: Francois L'Hotel, Δημοσθένη Αγραφιώτη, Μίνου Αργυράκη, Αντώνη Βάθη, Γιάννη Βογιατζή, Μαριάννας Κατσουλίδη, Μίλυς Μαρτιώνου, Κωνσταντινου Παπαμιχαλόπουλου, Κωνσταντίνου Πάτσιου, Andres Rodriguez, Ολγας Σουλαχάκη, Μαρίας Χατζηγάκη και άλλων.
Μετά την διήμερη παρουσίαση στην Αθήνα, η έκθεση θα μεταφερθεί στην Αστυπάλαια όπου θα εκτεθεί από τις 15 Ιουνίου έως και 15 Σεπτεμβρίου στο Δεξίμι Art Shop.
Την έκθεση συνδιοργανώνουν ο Γιώργος Οράτης και η Βασιλική Χατζηαντωνιου με την πολύτιμη συνδρομή του εικαστικού και ποιητή Δημοσθένη Αγραφιώτη.
Almost 25 years ago, I was walking down West 4th street in Manhattan, and heard a harp-like sound that seemed extraordinarily out of place in the urban noise surrounding me. I tried to locate the source, and eventually realized it was emanating from three tall, slender men in robes who were sauntering up the block ahead of me. I sped up my pace and as I got abreast of them, saw that one of them was playing what I learned later was a kora, as he strolled. And it seemed as if something magical was happening; the instrument changed the environment surrounding the three, as people were calmed and drawn to the sound. All around them, these three stately men had everyone in thrall with the pure, rippling notes of the kora. The instrument itself was sort of a cross between a harp and a some kind of lute, and the most conspicuous part, the resonator, was half of a large gourd. I walked a block out of my way before tearing myself away from the sound to go home.
Since then, there have been quite a few musical collaborations involving the kora in combination with other western instruments. (The wonderful "Chamber Music" with Ballaké Sissoko and Vincent Segal is one of the most successful.) But as far as I know, the collaboration between Seckou Keita and Catrin Finch is the first one to pair the kora with another harp. And upon hearing this duet, one actually wonders what took so long.
The two musicians in this duo are well matched, Keita has a history of innovating and experimenting with his instrument --he plays a western-machined double necked kora-- but has been careful to always maintain some distinctive root of his beloved West African music. Catrin Finch (known in her home country of Wales as the Queen of Harps) is also known for her forays into experimental music, as well as her mastery of the standard classical and folk repertoire. For this performance, Keita brought both a single and a double necked kora, while Finch played a striking Camac "Big Blue 47" concert harp with pickups on each of the 47 strings.
There was quite a buzz building up to their performance at WOMEX, which this year was in Cardiff. It was unfortunate that it took place in a rather small concert room instead of the big auditorium, as it filled up to capacity far too quickly and many delegates could not get in to see the show.The room was jammed with a mostly Welsh audience, and anticipation crackled in the air. I was pretty much crushed up agains the apron of the stage, almost in the middle..not the best angle for shooting!
When Finch and Keita play together, there is a complete immersion one with the other. Keita plays the rhythmic patterns and Finch's precise fingers play a counterpoint or a harmony figure and it all just feels right. Keita grins when Finch plays a stately figure enhancing his motif, and Finch nods back, giving Keita the room to cascade away on the kora. And that's quite a blazing solo he takes at the end, I might add. Through it all, there is a close communication that is palpable. Purists from one tradition or another may take issue with this blend -and I did hear one opinion voiced that it sounded too Welsh and not sufficiently Senegalese, but I think it is just that the two players have made allowances for each other's music, and this give and take creates a true hybrid. At any rate, I was in string heaven, awash in pleasure from lovely music, exquisitely played.

‘Empress of the pipa’, they call Liu Fang. Few play the lute-like Chinese instrument as virtuosic and sophisticated as she does – even in the cold wind, playing outside ‘De Ster’, a mill in the Dutch city of Utrecht.

Την Τρίτη, 15 Μαΐου 2018, έγινε στις Βρυξέλλες η απονομή των βραβείων της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης για την Πολιτιστική Κληρονομιά / Europa Nostra 2018. Τα Βραβεία Europa Nostra είναι η μεγαλύτερη ευρωπαϊκή βράβευση στο χώρο της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς. Η Europa Nostra συνιστά το μεγαλύτερο ευρωπαϊκό δίκτυο πολιτιστικών Οργανισμών και φορέων. Οι 29 νικητές, προερχόμενοι από 17 χώρες, αναγνωρίστηκαν για τα εντυπωσιακά επιτεύγματά τους στον χώρο της αποκατάστασης, της έρευνας, της αφοσιωμένης υπηρεσίας, της εκπαίδευσης και της ευαισθητοποίησης. Τη φετινή χρονιά, ανάμεσα στους νικητές βρίσκεται το έργο αποκατάστασης του βυζαντινού ναού της Αγίας Κυριακής στη Νάξο και το συλλογικό έργο αποκατάστασης του ψηφιδωτού της Μεταμόρφωσης στην αψίδα της βασιλικής στη I. Μονή Αγίας Αικατερίνης Σινά.
Οι νέοι καλλιτέχνες έργα των οποίων παρουσιάζονται για οκτώ μέρες στο ίδρυμα Μιχάλης Κακογιάννης είναι οι τελειόφοιτοι του κλάδου Ζωγραφικής: Καμμένου Ιφιγένεια, Κονταράτου Αθανασία, Κοντογεώργου Χριστίνα, Λόνγκλι Χριστίνα, Μανωλοπούλου Ελένη, Νικολαΐδου Χρυσαυγή Μαντίρα, Ποταμίτης Ανδρέας και Χατζηνικόλα – Λουκά Ανθούλα. Παράλληλα παρουσιάζεται και η πτυχιακή εργασία «Reborn» της τελειόφοιτης σπουδάστριας του κλάδου 3D Animation, Ευτυχίας Φελίσια Λένα. Η παρουσίαση γίνεται στο video room του ισογείου.
Jayanth is one of the most sought - after flautists in the carnatic music arena. A prodigy, driven by divine in-born talent and bubbling enthusiasm in bamboo flute, he was naturally drawn into the tutelage of his grandfather, Flute Maestro Late T. S. Sankaran (prime disciple of Flute Mali) in a traditional guru-sishya parampara since the age of five..
Jayanth gave his first solo flute concert at an age of seven. His ability to play Ragam Tanam Pallavi in three speeds (thrikaalam) surprised the senior accompanists and the audience on that occasion.
He was awarded ‘A’ grade by All India Radio, Doordarshan when he was just 21.He has been a regular feature in AIR and Doordarshan concerts.
He has a refined fingering and blowing technique which enables him to switch over to the BASS and DOUBLE BASS flutes with ease to cover lower octaves, which is acclaimed as a hallmark in his recitals. Jayanth naturally demonstrates depth and proximity to the lyrical aspect of a composition, given that he belongs to the pioneering school of Legendary Flute MALI. His spontaneity, perfect pitching coupled with expressive and bhava laden rendering has won him appreciation from his co-artists and music connoisseurs across the globe. He is known for his powerful blowing technique enabling him to produce melodious base tonal effects in the lower octave.
He has performed over 1200 solo flute recitals in major centres and festivals in India, United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, Bali, Dubai, Kuwait and Re-Union Islands.
He has been accompanied by doyens of carnatic music like Padma Vibhushan Umayalpuram K.Sivaraman, Padma Bhushan Sri T.V.Gopalakrishnan. He has also performed jugalbandhi with noted Hindustani flautist Pt.Ronu Majumdar and Pt.Ashwani Shankar – Shehnai.
