Saraswathi Namosthuthey in Raga Saraswathi, is a composition of one of the greatest vocalists, Shri G.N.Balasubramaniam. Set to Raga Saraswathi, the song is in praise of Goddess Saraswathi. It brings out the subtleties in the Gamaka that is so characteristic to Veena music. The Veena, along with Tabla and Ghatam present composition, followed by a brisk swaraprasthara or improvisation.

A sixth generation musician who has been performing since the age of 15, five time recipient of The Music Academy, Chennai’s “Award for Veena”, a researcher who holds a Doctorate for her work on “styles and playing techniques of the Saraswathi veena”, Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh has been captivating audiences around the world for 30 years now and is one of the leading Veena artistes today.
Dr. Jayanthi's Music is a true blend of the traditional and the innovative in terms of content, technique, virtuosity and expression. Poise and grace in presentation and soulfulness in rendition are the signatures of her style.
