Artists create works from Glasgow School of Art fire debris

“Art is Dead, Long Live Art”, 2016 - Grayson Perry

Grayson Perry, Anish Kapoor and more use materials recovered from the art school fire to make pieces for a fundraising auction, aiming to help rebuild the Mackintosh library. Anyone driving up the A1 towards Gateshead in the North East of England cannot fail to notice the 20m-tall figure of the Angel of the North, which has become an emblem for the whole region since it was created by Antony Gormley in 1998.
