The sad king : so duang
This piece depicts a scene in which king Waedsandoan [ the Buddha in an earlier life ], his wife Madsee, and their children are driven from the city. This music is used in scense in which the grief of aristocrats is expressed.
- Benjarong Thanakoset [ so duang ] . Born in Bangkok Jan, 5 , 1917.
From the time of her childhood she learned to play string instruments from her father. At age 16 she was sufficiently skilled to begin to accept private students. She was worked at the bank, but now she is a full time instructor at the National University of Theater, where she teaches stringed young performers st the university , and despite being 75 years old is regarded as an outstanding performer herself. She is regularly requested to perform, and appears on stage or on television and radio, she is also kept busy making recording.
- Benjarong Thanakoset has said that the present recording is " the most satisfactory of all my performances of recent years. " It is truly fortunate that despite the time limit of recording this recording captured a performance even superior to those of her radio and television appearances.
