Nickie Alarie does not know the word 'can't.' Born with a hand deformity she doesn't have use of her second hand like we do. Her 'small' hand only allows her a low range of capability. Nicki, an 8-year-old from a small town in Ontario, Canada, goes to school, plays with friends, plays soccer, rides horses, plays the violin and loves to bake with her mom. Pretty normal, except Nicki only has one good arm and is very small for her age. This disability does not stop her from doing what she wants and excelling at it. Not only does she play violin, but she works hard using the custom made bow that attaches to her small arm. She doesn’t look at things from the perspective of what she can’t do, but HOW she CAN do it. It’s an amazing perspective that more of us should adopt into our lives.
