Η Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης στο πλαίσιο του εορτασμού της Παγκόσμιας Ημέρας Μουσικής εμφανίζεται στις 20 Ιουνίου 2018 σε ένα από τα πλέον χαρακτηριστικά μνημεία της πόλης της Θεσσαλονίκης, την Ροτόντα, για μία συναυλία με έργα εποχής μπαρόκ.

Tappa in Raga Khamaj-Shashwati Mandal-HCL Maestros in Studio Live @The Peninsula Studios

Tappa in Raga Khamaj 

 Tappa singing has complex Taans. Set to 'Punjabi taal' in Raag Khamaj with the lyric - 'Bhanda ve Mehboob Piyara', the lyrics are sung in irregular speed and pronunciation. This style of Tappa singing is a specialty of Gwalior gharana, with its beautification with Geetkari, Khatka, Mukri and Harkat. 

In Season 1 of HCL Maestros in Studio Live @The Peninsula Studios, Shashwati Mandal performs Tappa in Raga Khamaj and Tappa in Raga Kafi, Bandish in Raga Kafi. She is accompanied on Harmonium by Paromita Mukherjee, on Tabla by Prashant Pandav and on Tanpura by Poorva Joshi and Bhawna.

Shashwati Mandal

is a fine exponent of the Gwalior style. Shashwati`s musical dexterity marks a refined eclecticism that has lent her an individualistic style at a fairly young age. Born into a family devoted to music, Shashwati showed rare sensitivity towards it from early childhood. Grand-daughter of late Pandit Balabhau Umdekar, the erudite exponent of the Gwalior style of classical Hindustani music and a court musician of the Gwalior state. Shashwati, initially trained under her mother late Smt Kamal Mandal. Later, from 1987-1992 she received the national scholarship from the dept. of culture, Govt of India, for learning `Tappa` and `Khayal` from the veteran musician Pandit Balasaheb Poonchwale. A foremost disciple of Balasaheb, Shashwati has acquired under his tutelage, an able hold on the subtle complexity of `Tappa`. She also continued to be inspired by her mother whose steady guidance has groomed her into an accomplished performer. Presently she is taking guidance from the `Gundecha Brothers'.

Shashwati is an `A` graded artist of AIR and Doordarshan. Her performances at several platforms and festivals have received high acclaim. Some of her notable performances include those at the Sawai Gandharv festival Pune, Tansen Sangeet Samaroh Gwalior, Habba Festival Bangalore, Samrat Sangeet Sammelan Goa, etc.

O Οργανισμός Πολιτισμού, Αθλητισμού και Νεολαίας δήμου Αθηναίων γιορτάζει την Ευρωπαϊκή Ημέρα της Μουσικής με τη Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα και τη Χορωδία δήμου Αθηναίων, την Πέμπτη 21 Ιουνίου στις 21:00 στο Περιστύλιο του Ζαππείου Μεγάρου, με την Α’ παγκόσμια παρουσίαση του νέου συμφωνικού και χορωδιακού έργου "Ραψωδία το στολίδι", του βραβευμένου Ελληνογάλλου συνθέτη συμφωνικής και κινηματογραφικής μουσικής Zorzes Katris.

Γιορτή της Μουσικής στον κήπο του Μεγάρου Αθηνών

H υπαίθρια βραδινή Γιορτή της Μουσικής στον Κήπο (8:00 μ.μ. – 11:00 μ.μ.) αρχίζει με την Camerata Junior, Ορχήστρα Νέων των Φίλων της Μουσικής, την οποία διαδέχεται η Κρατική Ορχήστρα Αθηνών που θα διευθύνει ο Στέφανος Τσιαλής. Στη συνέχεια, η Αθηναϊκή Μαντολινάτα "Νικόλαος Λάβδας" παρουσιάζει τη συναυλία "Α barca da fantasia". Η βραδιά κλείνει με το σχήμα Γιάννα Βασιλείου and Band που έχει ετοιμάσει ένα πρόγραμμα jazzy αποχρώσεων με ελληνικά ελαφρά τραγούδια του 1960 αλλά και με επιτυχίες του Φρανκ Σινάτρα και της Έλλα Φιτζέραλντ.
